Use Palm Springs as a desert overnight with one main activity, a meal and time to rest. A downtown property such as Kimpton Rowan is a different location from an Uptown address; compare the actual walking and driving needs before booking.

Getting there and back

Plan the hotel arrival and the transport to each activity separately. The Aerial Tramway is outside the downtown walking circuit. Check the forecast and leave outdoor time flexible rather than assuming the mountain excursion will solve a hot day.

Before you book

The Tramway is closed for maintenance through October 4, 2026, with October 5 only a tentative reopening. Its ticket page says sales are paused. Do not buy a trip on the assumption that the reopening date is guaranteed.

If plans change

During the closure, keep a town-focused stay with confirmed indoor stops and hotel facilities. If the Tramway is the main reason for travelling, wait for the operator’s reopening confirmation or change dates.
